CANNES: Jason Alexander’s ‘Lucky Stiff’ Goes on Sale (EXCLUSIVE)

Arclight Films is launching sales at Cannes of the movie version of musical comedy/farce “Lucky Stiff,” starring Jason Alexander, the late Dennis Farina, Dominic Marsh, Nikki M. James, Don Amendolia, Pamela Shaw and Kate Shindle.

Victor Syrmis and J. Todd Harris produce with director Christopher Ashley working from lyrics, music and screenplay by Broadway duo Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty. “Lucky Stiff” was first performed in 1988.

The story is about a down-and-out British shoe salesman, portrayed by Marsh, who is instructed to take his dead American uncle — played by Amendolia — to Monte Carlo for a week of fun, dancing, gambling to he can inherit the $6 million left to him. If he doesn’t, the money will go to the Universal Dog Home of Brooklyn. The movie version was filmed in Los Angeles and Monte Carlo and is scheduled for a 2015 release.
